Listen to the podcast above.
As a PhD researcher, my focus is on providing a comprehensive definition of non-human online personas in various forms, such as digital objects, artificial intelligence, and media texts. Through my research, I aim to contribute to a better understanding of non-human online personas which includes an understanding of the role of AI in society.
This week, instead of writing a blog, I thought I would produce a short podcast to explain my thoughts. In the podcast, I explore the different types of AI that exist, including generative AI, voice generators, deep fakes, algorithms, social media, streaming platforms, search engines, applications, and personal devices. I also delve into the role of AI in the creative industries and explore the social imagining of AI, including how it is portrayed in science fiction and how this shapes our perceptions of AI.
Throughout the podcast, I reference several texts:

Wooldridge M (2021) A Brief History of Artificial Intelligence. New York, NY, USA: Flatiron Books.
This blog was produced with the assistance of ChatGPT and Midjourney.
